2021 SUMMER ART CAMP

Summer Art Camps start this June! — Debra Weller, artist and educator, will lead students through explorations of Pop Art, Contemporary Surrealism, and Storytelling. Projects will incorporate a variety of mediums and techniques to encourage art appreciation and critical thinking, as well as allow students to experiment with their own creativity.

Parents and Guardians! Join the Campers for a special “Show & Tell” to see what they have been working on! (45 minutes before the last class of each session ends)

Space is very limited. In following CDC guidelines for Covid-19, students will be spaced out at tables, and they should wear masks, especially when not seated. Automatic hand sanitizer dispensers are stationed throughout the gallery. Instructors will be wearing masks at all times. Students will need to bring their own drinks, snacks, and lunch (if applicable).

1. AWESOME ANIMALS – FULL!
June 14 – 18 | 9am – 12pm
Awesome animals of the land, sea and sky! Students will work in acrylic paint, focusing on techniques using brushes and palette knives.
2. PEN TO PAPER – FULL!
June 14 – 18 | 1pm – 4pm
Students will learn to tell a story under the direction of Professional Storyteller, Debra Weller. Students will learn how to illustrate their story and stylize it in their own way! They may work in any medium including digital if they bring their own tablet.
3. SURREAL SURPRISES – FULL!
June 21 – 25 | 9am – 12pm
Dreams, Mother Nature, Unusual Combinations… Magritte, Dali and Ernst were all masters of surrealism. In this session, students will work in various mediums to create their own surreal surprises.
4. POP GOES THE ART – FULL!
June 21 – 25 | 1pm – 4pm
Self-Portraits, 3D Art, Graffiti, Posters… Students will create their own Pop Art using a variety of mediums while learning from the greats like Warhol, Lichtenstein, and Harding.

REGISTRATION
