Created by Council on Aging, IMEP™ is a dynamic and innovative response to memory loss. A structured, research-based program, IMEP integrates the mind, body, and brain connections to boost cognitive reserve and minimize the progression of memory loss or dementia. IMEP employs specific cognitive and physical exercises designed for seniors, and utilizes healing modalities that support overall brain and body function.
IMEP™ is offered in 2-hour, 3-hour, and 5-hour program formats in a relaxed and supportive classroom environment that encourages camaraderie. The 5-hour program includes lunch.
A light-hearted atmosphere, authentic dialogue, and engaging social interaction are the hallmarks of every IMEP™ class. Each day’s class focuses on a different brain topic, for example flexible thinking, spatial orientation, communication, or reasoning. The day’s activities then support and stimulate that brain function. The program provides a dignified, supportive, and non-judgmental environment.
