Garden of the Groves
Considered one of the finest botanical Gardens in the Caribbean, the Garden of the Groves has more than 10,000 species of flowers, shrubs, trees, and exotic plant life. Its old-fashioned chapel is the perfect place for a romantic, tropical wedding. Along its shaded, winding paths are several waterfalls and exotic native birds. It is an ideal spot for those simply seeking a serene setting for quiet reflection.

Kayaking Day Trip
Seashells has partnered with Grand Bahama’s most experienced kayaking eco-tour operator. The personal touch is maintained by keeping the groups small. Trained guides are committed to your comfort and safety and cheerfully share their knowledge of local history, ecology, flora and fauna.

The tour begins with a nature walk through the Lucayan National Park and Caves. Then, you kayak through the quiet waters of Gold Rock Creek, where the water is never more than waist deep. The creek is a pristine mangrove environment and a habitat for bird and marine life. You'll also have time to swim, snorkel and relax on beautiful Gold Rock Beach, one of Grand Bahama’s most spectacular beaches.

Horse Back Riding
The friendly guides and reliable trail horses at our Grand Bahama stables, provide a two-hour trail ride that is the "ultimate eco-our" of Grand Bahama Island. It takes you through several of the island's eco-systems: along tree-lined trails, through endangered Pine Forest, pass orange groves on the "castle" grounds the "wetlands" of the deciduous Rocky Coppice and wetland, along the beach and into the ocean. Do bear in mind that you will get wet!

The return trip will take you through the streets of a local community. It's a great idea to bring your camera, as there are lots of photo opportunities.

Island Safari Day Trip
Fascinating blue holes, deserted beaches, prehistoric caverns, wetlands, McLean's Town, Sweeting's Cay and Lightbourne Cay are a few of the natural treasures you will see if you sign up for an all-day cultural safari. The guided tour involves a ride in an open 4x4 jeep along sandy shores, a short hike through pine and palm forests to some inland attractions, and a motorboat trip to a quaint, unspoiled fishing village.

Biking Nature Tour
On this tour, you'll be able to ride an historic trail that early settlers walked; visit the ruins of one of the island's first settlements; stop along wetlands to glimpse stately herons and egrets; view picturesque scenery, including our pine forest and shady coppice (hardwood forest). Plus, you'll get to visit one of the most fascinating elements of the island's geology—an inland "blue hole."

Dive with Dolphins
Grand Bahama Island is the only place you can be guaranteed to dive with dolphins in the open water. You'll also get to hand-feed and interact with these amazing animals in their natural habitat. Many people wait their whole lives to get close to a dolphin in the wild before learning that they can swim with them right here on Grand Bahama Island.

Golfing Grand Bahama

Our Lucaya Golf Club
This 6,824 yard course, designed by Dick Wilson in 1962, places a premium on accuracy. Well-bunkered greens and generous fairways wander through pine tree stands and dense tropical underbrush. A sense of privacy prevails; foursomes rarely see each other during a round. Constant upgrades of the golf course and its facilities ensure the highest standards of golf. Tif dwarf grass -- a superior Bermuda grass, creates a faster truer putting surface.

Our Lucaya Reef Golf Course
This 6,930 yard course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., showcases picturesque lakes on 13 of the 18 holes that make up the course. Large, undulating greens, and wide, winding fairways complete the experience on this unique links-style course.

Port Lucaya Marketplace
Weekly activities include theme night, Mardi Gras, reggae nights, island night, Junkanoo parades, fire dancing, limbo dancing and other cultural acts. There is also DJ and/or live music featuring local bands, Karaoke and audience participation dances. The square officially closes every night at midnight.

Duty Free Shopping (DFS)
Perfumes and Fragrances, Crystal, Leather Goods, Jewelry, Fine Linens and Tablecloths, Watches and Clocks, Photographic Equipment, China, Binoculars, and Telescopes are all duty free. Savings on these items are between 25% - 50% below US prices.

Smith’s Point Fish-Fry
The Wednesday night "Fish Fry" at Smith's Point is a unique cultural and dining experience. The Fish Fry is an excellent opportunity to get better acquainted with both the native fish and our local residents. We call it people-to-people and we're sure you will have an enjoyable experience.

Casinos
This new 19,000 sq. ft. casino at The Westin & Sheraton Beach & Golf Resort is operated by "Isle of Capri." It has 400 slot machines (including video reels and video poker), sports betting and 21 game tables consisting of Mini-Baccarat, Caribbean Stud and Three-Card Poker, Craps, Blackjack and Roulette (single zero/double zero). There is also a special "Jewel of The Isle" room, featuring high-limit table games and slot machines
